Polished Chaos. Two words that accurately sum up my life.
I'm Katie - the one behind Polished Chaos. Bride-to-be, animal-lover (seriously, it's a problem), beauty fiend, and someone who wears their heart on their sleeve. I am an ambivert - someone who is between an introvert and extrovert and I have a very sarcastic sense of humor. I am sensitive, and when I say sensitive, I mean emotionally and physically - I'm a god damn peach. I'm passionate, I love to laugh, and I adore making people smile.
I'm a gal with many hats. I'm an esthetician, a free-lance make-up artist, and I have a diploma in Criminology. When I want to do something, I do it whole heartedly and I don't let anything get in my way - some call it impulsive, I like to think of it as overly ambitious!
I decided to start this blog for a few reasons:
One. January 2016 - my one and only New Years Resolution is to learn to love myself. I realized that this is something I struggle with on a day to day basis - really being in love with who I am. I decided to journal every day and write myself through this learning process. As I got a few weeks into writing, I noticed some things ... Firstly, I wasn't keeping my promise to myself and I wasn't writing every day and secondly, I found that simply writing in a journal wasn't holding me accountable to my one and only resolution!
Two. There are a few things that give me great satisfaction and happiness in life - I love playing with makeup and I like to pretend I'm a beauty YouTube'r when I do it. Don't judge me. I like doing crafts but can be super impatient sometimes! I am also thoroughly enjoying planning my upcoming wedding! But, check back with me in a few months on that one... There are so many other things that make me happy too - my amazing fiancé, my quirky animals, my friends and family; the list goes on! I'm talking more about things that are just for ME, things that I am good at - my hobbies.
Three. I love to write. Writing to me is such an emotional release that is so empowering. I love that if I am struggling with a situation or I have something on my mind, I can write it down and feel some of that weight lift off. I can write things down that I may not be able to say aloud. I love the fact that I can go to a blog, read an entry, and completely relate to what that blogger is talking about! Its so amazing to know you're not alone.
I really hope that by blogging my life and my passions, that I can not only help myself, but help people along the way who can relate to any part of my polished, chaotic world. So jump head first into this exciting adventure with me! Let's go through life's struggles and triumphs together! Share your stories, share your ideas, share animal pictures ... No seriously, do it. Now.
Share the love! xo
